Paying Tribute To Michael Ra

We received some sad news that Michael Ra, profiled in Truck Camper Magazine last July, passed away last Friday.  Michael lived full-time in his remarkable hand-built truck camper and traveled to flea markets selling antique tools and other unique items.

The report of Michael’s passing was published yesterday in The Greenville Advocate.  The article states that Michael was found in his truck at the Dry Creek Campground in Crenshaw County, Alabama.

Angela and I met Michael two years ago at Florida Flywheelers.  His extraordinary truck camper immediately grabbed our attention.  After introducing ourselves, we asked for an interview, and took pictures of his rig.

Michael was one of the most gracious and free-spirited people we have ever met.  His smile was infectious, as was his humor.  As interesting as his camper was, Michael was the real story.
